Trolldom 1
Det var ein nordmann som budde i ein dal austom oss. Dei kalla han Ågesendalen. Og folk påstod at den gamle kjerringa på den plassen hadde litt trolldomkunst i seg. Når ho sleppte krøtera ut på jordene om hausten, tok ho ein kjepp og for ut på marka og drog han etter kanten på maisåkeren. Så sa dei at kyrne aldri gjekk over der ho hadde drege kjeppen.

Opptak frå 12.11.42. Informaant: fødd i Blackhammer Twp. nær Spring Grove i Minnesota. Han er tredje generasjons amerikanar, og bestefaren hans kom frå Aurland i Sogn i 1848.

Witchcraft 1
There was a Norwegian who lived in a valley east of us they called Ågesen valley. And the old woman on that place they claimed had some witchcraft ability. When she let the cattle out on the fields in the falls, they said she had a stick, an she went over and dragged it along the edge of the corn field, and then they said the cattle would never go across where she had dragged that stick.

Recorded nov. 12. 1942. Informant: born in Blackhammer TWp. neaar Spring Grove, Minnesota, this man is third generation American, whose grandfather came from Aurland, Sogn, 1849.
